About

The Gathering

The Gathering Church is a new faith community planting roots in Bossier City. We exist to help people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and share His love with the world. Whether you’re exploring faith or looking for a church home, you’re welcome here.

The Mission

Jesus said go, preach the gospel and make disciples (Matt 28, Mark 16, Acts 1).  The church is on a mission and we are ready. We gather so that we can go and change our world.

The Gathering exists to make disciples, first by living missional lives that leads to sinners being saved and baptized, and second by teaching God's Word faithfully while learning to live in the community of God.

Why Another Church

  • If every church in Shreveport-Bossier were filled to capacity on a Sunday, over 300,000 people would still be without a seat.

  • 3 churches close for every 1 church planted the U.S. every year.

  • If every church in the U.S. were filled, 85% of people would be without a church.

  • Over 50% of new attendees at church plants were previously unchurched, compared to 5-15% in established churches.

  • New churches are critical to reaching the unsaved.

  • Even in a community with a strong religious presence, many people remain disconnected from life-giving, missional churches. Shreveport-Bossier is a place where new, healthy churches can bring hope, healing, and transformation in the midst of spiritual and physical need.
